Black Sandy Beach Tour – aprox. 2 hours – Horse Riding –

Starting at the stables in Megalochori, this ride will take you along the paths of the vineyards and their traditional layout, where via the south trails, we will lead you to the secluded Eros Beach. These paths were created by the great eruption which gave the island’s present form.

You will enjoy the small gorges and ravines carved into the volcanic rock, which marvel Santorini’s unique landscape.

 At the end of the route, we reach Eros beach, a long black beach with impressive rock formation cliffs as a backdrop. Continuing along the beach, we will escort you to the top of the hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the beach and the trails.

Frequent stops are made to take commemorative photos of you and your horse, capturing your memorable experiences in all the best places.

The riding experience starts from the stables in Megalochori and takes you along the paths of the traditional village, toward the caldera cliff, where you will witness the layers of lava of the famous Caldera volcanic crater. You will be amazed by the impressive views and the steep cliff, as you will ride along the rim of the caldera admiring the ravines and gorges created by the eruption thousands of years ago.

From the cliff top we stop to admire the amazing sunset, or the morning sunlight sparkling on the water, as this ride celebrates nature in all its glory.

Our visit continues to an ancient quarry carved into the Cliffside, where you will view the different layers of stone that make the island’s geology unique.
